Perspectives

This past week of training was well-deserved.  I took time off work to enjoy solitude at home with my family and in the process I also took my runs outside for the first time in a long while.

I set out with my training partner to explore new running trails and we had a great time.  The weather was perfect this past week and the weatherman predicts more good weather this coming week.

This week I also decided to sign up for a local race that I really enjoy - the Colfax Urban 10 Miler - which will occur in May.  It's one of my favorites as the weather is always super nice, the cheering crowds are great, and you get to see the city of Denver while also taking a quick run-through tour of the Broncos Stadium (Empower Field).

In a couple weeks I'll be running a Half Marathon and I'll be using that race as a training run toward my London Marathon goals.  I feel like I have my fueling and nutrition strategies down pack, I've just got to narrow in on my pacing strategy (which has been up and down lately).

Nonetheless I am excited for what lies ahead in this training journey.  It is important to remain positive and "stay in the now" so that I do not get distracted on the unknowns of the future.  I got this.

This week I will also be announcing the February Raffle event for my Tuesday's Children fundraiser.  Stay tuned!

Finally, you will find (here) the YouTube recap video of Week 4 training.

Have a wonderful week!
