On Sunday this past week I completed my long run (9 miles total) in strong winds. I have no idea what I was thinking as I also chose a route that was hilly and went against the wind in multiple segments of the run. Ha! After the fact my coach chuckled and commented, "think of it as resistance training." That's exactly how it felt!!
Around mile 3 of the run I felt so good. I reveled in that feeling for a moment. Thinking of the London course, the crowds, my family cheering, and focused on the strength in my legs and lungs. As I get closer to marathon day, I want to remember to have fun and ultimately trust in the training process that is bringing me closer to the race.
The medal design has not yet been revealed; which is always a fun motivator. I hope it's a looker :)
Although I struggled with a minor injury and cold these past couple weeks, I am feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on a half marathon race I have scheduled this weekend.
I was able to create and post a couple videos on my YouTube channel. However, because I was not feeling too great, they are lacking in content some. Here are the links for training Week 7 and Week 8. Enjoy!
